About Us

Foothills Prosthetics is located in Morganton, NC to serve the orthotic and prosthetic needs of the fine folks living in the foothills of western North Carolina. We started this facility to provide the finest and most technological advanced prosthetics and orthotics, all while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Below is a description of our staff.

Kevin A Wicker, CPO, is ABC certified prosthetist/orthotist on staff here at Foothills Prosthetics. Born and raised in Newberry County, SC, Kevin began his career by working in emergency room at Newberry Memorial Hospital for a year immediately after high school. After serving a two year mission for his church, he attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC majoring in Biology. While attending school, Kevin married his wife Rachel, who was attending Winthrop University. Kevin received his prosthetic and orthotic education at the University of Washington School of Medicine (Seattle, WA), earning a Bachelor of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics. He completed his one year orthotic residency at Carolina Orthopedic Laboratory in Spartanburg, SC. His prosthetic residency was completed at The Ohio Willow Wood Company in Mount Sterling, Ohio. Kevin remained on the research and development team at Ohio Willow Wood for another year before moving to North Carolina opening Foothills Prosthetics. Kevin and Rachel are the parents of four children: Abigail, Sarah, Ruth, and Adam.
